LAMBS, LAMBS, LAMBS

LAMBS, LAMBS, LAMBS
Well like Tulips the lambs are popping out, spring is here, so they say.
Tansey and her twins one ewe and one ram;

Magnolia has twins also one of each

Fontyne has twins also, one katmoget and one dark brown

Claire produced twins both ewes.

Cate has some nice spotted lambs, one ram one ewe

We also have two jugs in the barn with spotties, just born yesterday. Best go check the pasture for more babies. We have one kidnapper " Baba" Who likes to steal babies, so I have to watch her. Baba was not bred this year, so she is going to have a lamb, wither I like it or not.

NO LAMBS YET

STILL SNOWING HERE IN WISCONSIN!.....
Winter still has us in her grip, she won't let go, the lake is still frozen, if the sun would stay out we might melt some of this snow. The lake is usually open by now, The open water you see is the aireator by the pier.
No signs of Crocus or Daffodils popping up from the ground. I think winter just wants to grab us by the scuff of the neck and shake us for a while.

Happy Easter to everyone, hope your lambing is going good, we don't expect lambs till mid April.....we know Wisconsin weather well, so we plan accordingly.

MEXICO VACATION

"OLA MEXICO VACATION"
You know us farmers can't leave our hats at home, the pool was great after leaving snow country for warm Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.
First day in Mexico, we went straight to the bar.....I mean beach, our friends Dennis, Sib and hubby Jerome enjoying a little, livation. The danger sign is by our friend Dennis, look out for him.

Well by the time evening came , I was having a good time , we ate dinner at one of the all you can eat (5) restaurants at the Rui, and drink too. Dennis was singing with the band " Margaritaville"

Next day back into the pool, we spent most of our time on pool side lounges reading, lots of activities going on, even joined in arobics class the guy giving it was really cute. After two Pina Colada's I told him to get his butt in the pool. He did!

Sib and Nancy with the drinks again they even have a bar in the pool. That's me in the hat and dark glasses.....don't want anyone to recognize me.

As the sun sets on another day....at the bar..... The Rui is all inclusive, like a cruise all you can eat and all you can drink.

Today we went shopping in Puerto Vallarta at the main Market, here we are having lunch at Gringo Gulch. Wow the vacation came to a end after a week of eating and drinking, nice weather in the 80's, evenings of Dennis singing "Margaritaville" He sounds like Sinatra.
" Ola till next year"

BBUUURRR.....

Snow, Snow, Snow, every time I look outside its is snowing again, I think we plowed our drive way. 9 times in the month of January. Jerome is plowing this afternoon again. Our driveway is 1/2 mile long so its not easy plow job.

Harley is smelling something in the snow, maybe a Coyote has come by here or maybe rabbit toes. Could be a mouse under the snow. Harley does not allow any of the wild life that walks on the property.....if your a flyer that's ok, just don't land to often.

I got a new mini digital camera, so I have to take some pictures to see how this thing works, well let me tell you it comes with a manual of instructions , its drives me crazy, I need a Geek Squad to come and help me figure out how to load the pictures on my computer. But it does take nice clear pictures and its very small, so I can take it with me, in my pocket.

Orchids are in full bloom, the blooms last a long time , a couple of months. I have some more shooting up blossom stems, to bloom later in the winter.

Well now that I know the camera, works....lookout!
You maybe on Candid Camera........

BREEDING GROUPS

DECEMBER and winter is here, Firefly and his ewes have a path round their breeding pen, and they all follow along one behind the other, one stops the rest stop. Firefly seems to only have interest in food now, maybe because it's only 10 degrees outside....or he is done for this season.

McGyver and his two girls have a very small area, he is going on 8 years old and can't chase the ewes like he use to, I think this will be his last year breeding, arthritis seems to be his worse enemy. He is losing condition like most old beings.

WE have 4 breeding areas, and one area for the maidens, old and young that are not breeding this year. Returning from chores I thought the house looks so nice in its new snow coating I had to take a picture.

Our resident Coyote has been across the lake, driving Harley our guard dog crazy, also the River Otters come by the aerator's open water every morning, so he has been protecting us from all the woodland critters.

Happy Winter to all !.....

Deer Hunting

JEROME'S 10 POINT BUCK

10 POINT BUCK...TAKEN WITH BOW!

JEROME shot this buck with his cross bow, Harley says this doesn't look like a Ram .....guess its OK.

Winter is closing in fast, the trees have shed their leaves, the grass has slowed its growth. Thanksgiving is coming on full speed. Deer Hunting is during the week of Thanksgiving, so this is a very active week for us, family is coming up for both weekends. Its time to don our orange coats. Deer Hunting blinds have been built, guns sighted in , food is the next thing on all our minds, and I make plenty of it during this busy week of Deer Hunting.

WE love to eat deer meat, venison jerky is one of our favorites. Plus many other ways I make this lean meat. We have some ground for burgers and chili, also chops and steaks....yum!

WISH US HAPPY HUNTING!

AUTUMN MAINTENANCE 2007

BURNING BUSH IN ALL IT'S FALL GLORY

LAST ROSE OF SUMMER

WINTER IS ON ITS WAY, TIME TO CLEAN UP AND FIX UP

Stairway to the lake, cement stairs:

FRONT DECK LEAVES ARE FALL SO FAST ,I CLEAN THEM UP AND MORE COME, WHAT'S GOING ON.

I'm going into the clean it up and stash it away mode, leaves are falling faster than I can clean them up. Had a new stairway to the lake put in, cement stairway, we had railroad ties and gravel down to the lake before... now it's cement, I fell down last fall and busted my butt, ended up in the hospital with this huge hematoma on my butt, what a bruise that was, now if I fall they can take me right to morgue.......ya, think I should wear a helmut on my way down to the lake.

See how I get way laid while doing my chores, next thing I have the camera out, taking pictures.
